Yesterday afternoon's telecast of the Zee Cine Awards 2019 saw several Bollywood celebrities slaying it on the red carpet, and films like Padmaavat, Sanju won maximum awards. There were also some emotional moments that are being talked about, long after the show got over on national television. We are all well aware that Ranbir Kapoor and his family is going through a tough time as his father Rishi Kapoor has not been keeping well and is receiving medical treatment in New York, from the past few months.

So when Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor (Male) award, during the acceptance speech, he got emotional and dedicated the trophy to his father. During his speech, the actor opened up about his ailing father’s health and also his insecurities as an actor.

Said Ranbir, “I would like to dedicate this award to very special people in my life starting with my father. He is going through a little bit of a rough patch in his life and I have often heard that whenever you come into some crossroads in your life, you can really tell who you are as a person. Whenever I speak to him, he only talks about movies. He only talks about 'how is this film?', 'how is this film doing?', 'how is this performance?’, what are you doing in this scene?'. And more so, he speaks to me about his insecurities that when he gets back, will he get to work in movies? Whether people will offer him films? Will he be able to act in movies?”

The Sanju actor was awarded by his girlfriend Alia Bhatt, who also got teary-eyed hearing him speak. Watch videos:




Ranbir Kapoor and actress-girlfriend Alia Bhatt have often taken time out and flown down to New York, to be by Rishi Kapoor’s side. The actress also spent her New Years with the Kapoors.
